Five Teens Hospitalized after Leavenworth Head-On Accident on Highway 2

 
LEAVENWORTH, WA (January 18, 2024) — Five Oregon teenagers sustained injuries after a two-car, head-on crash on Highway 2.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision took place on Highway 2 near milepost 102 at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 13.
 
Police said a 16-year-old driver lost control of his 2019 Volkswagen Golf moving eastbound near milepost 102. The vehicle crossed the centerline. After that, it hit a 2013 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 39-year-old Cashmere man.
 
Both vehicles came to a stop near the eastbound lane.
 
The Cashmere driver was not hurt. However, medics transported the driver of the Volkswagen and his four passengers to Confluence Health with serious injuries. Reports said they are all from Damascus, Oregon, and are ranging in age from 16 to 19.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
