SAN DIEGO, CA (February 18, 2025) – At least one person died following a fiery multi-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway late Tuesday night, February 11.

The fatal incident occurred at the Dairy Mart Road, according to the California Highway Patrol which responded to the scene at about 11:34 p.m.

Authorities stated that an unspecified number of vehicles had figured in an accident on northbound 5 Freeway, for reasons still unknown.

One of the vehicles then burst into flames.

The collision left at least one person with fatal injuries, though it was unclear if they succumbed at the scene or at a hospital.

Officials are still working on determining the cause and circumstances behind the crash.
