SAN DIEGO, CA (February 18, 2025) – Two pilots received transport to a hospital after a jet crash on San Diego Bay near Shelter Island on Wednesday morning, February 12.

The incident involved a U.S. Navy EA-18 Growler, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue which responded to the scene at around 10:15 a.m.

Officials stated that the military fighter jet with two service members aboard had figured in an accident, for reasons still undetermined.

The aircraft then crashed into the San Diego Bay, ejecting the aviators in the process.

Upon seeing the incident, a charter fishing boat with H & M Landing rendered aid to the pilots.

Respondents then transported the two patients to UC San Diego Medical Center in stable condition.
