SAN BENITO, TX (May 1, 2023) – The San Benito Police Department confirmed that a woman died in a pedestrian accident on Sam Houston Boulevard on April 15.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened near the northbound Frontage Road at approximately 9:15 AM.
 
Based on a report, the woman may have been attempting to get some items that fell off her vehicle while driving through the area. It was not clear how another vehicle struck her.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release her name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver of the other vehicle stayed at the scene.
