Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on East Fort Lowell Road in Tucson
TUCSON, AZ (November 28, 2023) – The Tucson Police Department confirmed a fatal pedestrian accident on East Fort Lowell Road on November 15.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened about a block west of North Stone Avenue shortly before 8:30 PM. Based on a report, the pedestrian was walking near the intersection at the time of the crash.
The victim was wearing all dark clothing and there were no street lights in the area. Due to unknown reasons, a 2013 Volkswagen Passat traveling westbound and in the curb lane on Fort Lowell Road hit the man.
As a result, the man suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported the victim to Banner University Medical Center, where he later died.
The driver of the car stayed and cooperated with authorities. After an evaluation, TPD determined that the driver was not impaired by alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident but officers found drug paraphernalia in the vicinity.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
