PHOENIX, AZ (June 6, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department confirmed a fatal pedestrian accident on 27th Avenue on May 28.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Bethany Home Road around 10:30 PM. Based on a report, the woman was crossing mid-block on 27th at the time of the crash.
 
At that point, a northbound vehicle struck her.
 
When officers arrived, they found the woman lying in the roadway and the vehicle nearby. As a result of the collision, first responders pronounced the victim dead on the scene. They did not yet release her name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver of the vehicle cooperated with the authorities who said they don’t believe impairment played a part in the crash.
