Motorcyclist Killed in South Hill Accident on Highway 161
SOUTH HILL, WA (May 15, 2023) – Troopers confirmed that one person died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 161 on May 8.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at 144th Street East shortly after 8:00 PM. Based on a report, the 39-year-old motorcyclist from Kent was traveling on the highway at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, the rider ran a red light at the intersection and struck a pickup truck. Subsequently, the motorcycle came to a rest in the intersection.
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
The pickup driver, a 37-year-old Puyallup man, suffered injuries. Crews transported him to MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment,
Troopers did not suspect drugs or alcohol to be factors.
At this point, an investigation into the accident is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
