Fatal Dump Truck Accident on East 144th Avenue [Brighton, CO]

One Dead in Dump Truck Crash on East 144th Avenue at Chambers Road

 
BRIGHTON, CO (December 6, 2023) — A worker died after a dump truck accident on East 144th Avenue on Friday, November 3.
 
According to the Brighton Police Department, the crash happened at a construction site near East 144th Avenue and Chambers Road at around 9:30 a.m.
 
Brighton Police said that a worker operated a dump truck at the construction area. Then the dump truck traveled slowly in reverse and ran over another worker.
 
When officers arrived at the scene, they said the 65-year-old male was unresponsive and they later pronounced him dead on scene. Adams County coroner has not yet released his identity, pending notification of his loved ones.
 
The truck driver described only as a 46-year-old male was not hurt. Authorities said he cooperated with them, and he showed no signs of impairment. They arrested him for careless driving causing death.
