Man Killed, Woman Arrested after Suspected DUI Accident on Gowan Road and Bay Lake Trail

 
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (December 6, 2023) — One man died in a suspected DUI crash on Gowan Road on Friday, October 20.
 
According to North Las Vegas police, the crash occurred in the area of Gowan Road and Bay Lake Trail at approximately 2:00 a.m.
 
Police said a driver lost control of a gray 2000 Chevrolet Silverado causing it to crash into a light pole. Then it turned over before it came to rest upside down. Investigators said the impact separated the bed of the pickup truck from the frame.
 
Paramedics pronounced a passenger inside the vehicle, described only as a man in his early 40s, dead at the scene. The Clark County Coroner’s Office officials have not yet released his identity.
 
Medics also found the driver of the pickup, identified only as a woman in her early 40s, outside the vehicle. They transported her to an area hospital with minor injuries.
 
Investigators believe both speed and impairment are factors in the accident. The driver faces pending charges related to the crash.
