Man Dies, Another Hurt after Three-Vehicle Crash on Valley Home Road
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (November 16, 2022) — A Stockton man died while another person was injured after a car accident on Valley Home Road on Friday afternoon, November 11.
The fatal incident occurred near Pleasant Valley Road around 5:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. A 16-year-old driving a 2013 Honda turned in front of a 2001 Ford. The Ford was driving around 55 miles per hour on Valley Home Road at the time of the crash.
The Ford tried to slow down, but was not able to avoid the car due to a 2007 Honda driving by on the other side of the road.
The 2013 Honda spun clockwise before coming to a stop over a canal bridge shoulder. However after the impact, the Ford wound up hitting the left side of the 2007 Honda and overturned. The 2007 Honda was then redirected from northbound Valley Home Road to the eastbound shoulder.
The driver of the 2007 Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
The driver of the 2007 Honda was only described as a 47-year-old man out of Stockton.
CHP do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. However, the circumstances and factors surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
