PASCO, WA (July 5, 2023) – Officers identified 41-year-old Evelio Cruz of Pasco who died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 182 on June 24.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at about 3:45 AM. Based on a report, the victim was walking in the roadway on the ramp from Highway 395.
 
At the same time, 51-year-old Brian Luft of Kennewick was driving a Honda CR-V on the highway. Due to unknown reasons, he struck Cruz.
 
As a result, Cruz sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Luft was not hurt and police did not file any charges against him.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
