Essence Burnes Dies, Two Injured in Phoenix Car Crash
PHOENIX, AZ (May 16, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 20-year-old Essence Burnes in a crash on 19th Street on May 14.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Glendale Avenue around 6:30 AM. Based on a report, Burnes was going through the intersection on 19th Street at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, another car on Glendale Avenue hit her.
As a result, Burnes suffered grave injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported her to the hospital, where she died.
Her passenger and the driver of the other car were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are working to determine who ran the red light.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
