Eric Jaeger Struck by Car on San Mateo-Hayward Bridge

FOSTER CITY, CA (October 7, 2022)Eric Jaeger was confirmed dead after pedestrian accident on San Mateo-Hayward Bridge on September 21.

The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau was chasing a suspect identified as 31-year-old Jaeger from Fremont. He was occupying a 2020 white Ford Mustang when he failed to comply with the authorities for unknown reasons.

As a result, police chased Jaeger from Half Moon Bay to Pacifica, but lost sight of him on Interstate 280.

A fatal pedestrian accident was reported around 4:32 a.m. The Mustang was found along the eastbound lane of the bridge near the scene with no gas left in the car.

Apparently, Jaeger left his car by foot to escape when an oncoming vehicle hit him.

The Fremont man suffered from fatal injuries, according to the police.

California State Route 92 closed down both the center and right lanes, leaving only one lane in use for traffic.

California Highway Patrol warned motorists and commuters about the expected delays at 5:21 a.m.

The road was reopened around 7:36 a.m. on the same day.

Our heartfelt sympathies go to the bereaved family and friends of Eric Jaeger.
