Elecia Vaughn Identified in Fatal Car Crash on Highway 970 in Cle Elum
CLE ELUM, WA (May 23, 2023) – Officers identified 37-year-old Elecia Vaughn of Cle Elum who died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 970 on May 17.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Red Bridge Road shortly before 5:30 PM. Based on a report, a 2007 Ford Econoline van was westbound on the highway prior to the crash.
Subsequently, it stopped to make a left turn onto Red Bridge Road. At that point, Vaughn’s 2017 Volkswagen Golf rear-ended the Ford. Then, a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta rear-ended the Golf.
As a result, Vaughn died at the scene.
The driver of the Golf, 34-year-old Max Twogood of Seattle, sustained injuries that did not require hospitalization.
Two people in the van were not hurt.
At this point, an investigation into the accident is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
