PHOENIX, AZ (June 3, 2024) — A man identified as 60-year-old Edwin Rodriguez died in a motorized scooter crash on Friday, May 22.
 
According to the Phoenix Police, the accident occurred at about 8:20 p.m. near 12th Avenue and Washington Street.
 
Detectives believe Rodriguez tried Washington Street on his motorized scooter. Then a westbound vehicle struck him.
 
Officers arrived at the scene and found Rodriguez with serious injuries. Emergency responders then rushed him to a hospital, where he later died.
 
Phoenix police said the woman driving the vehicle stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators. Her identity was not available.
