Edwardo Delgado Arrested, Woman Dead in Houston DUI Accident

 
HOUSTON, TX (December 29, 2023) — Officials arrested 35-year-old Edwardo Delgado of Houston after a fatal DUI crash on Friday, December 22.
 
According to Houston police, the accident took place on 45 Freeway and North Main Street at 2:30 a.m.
 
Police said Delgado lost control of his SUV. After that, his vehicle crashed into a wall and pole before it overturned.
 
A woman who was an occupant in the same vehicle died. According to court documents, he tried to blame the collision on the woman in his statements to witnesses and law enforcement.
 
Authorities later charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. Court records show it is not the first time they accused Delgado of drinking and getting behind the wheel. He had a DWI conviction in 2012.
 
Then in 2021, he also received a DWI for a second time. When the fatal accident happened, officials released him on bond for that charge. Records revealed his initial bond was just $100.
 
In 2022, he violated his bond conditions after he got a portable alcohol monitor violation. His records say he has had bond forfeiture status since.
 
As of writing, officials hold Delgado on a $250,000 bond.
