Earl Knockaert Killed, Mary Knockaert Hospitalized after Zavalla Crash

 
ZAVALLA, TX (December 13, 2023) — A 79-year-old Grapeland resident, identified as Earl Knockaert, died after a crash on Friday, December 8.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred on Highway 63 at the intersection of Highway 147 at around 9:25 p.m.
 
The report said Knockaert drove a Chevrolet SUV west with 78-year-old Mary Knockaert as a passenger. The initial investigation suggests he approached a curve at an unsafe speed. Then he crashed off the roadway to the right. After that, the vehicle overturned.
 
Paramedics rushed Earl and Mary to a hospital. Then, a medical personnel pronounced Earl dead. Mary received treatment for serious injuries.
