Dustin Lorenzana Fatally Injured in Head-On Crash on 40 Freeway

 
POTTER COUNTY, TX (April 30, 2024) — A 36-year-old man identified as Dustin Lorenzana, of Pampa, died in a crash on Saturday, April 20.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the head-on accident occurred on the 40 Freeway at around 1:30 a.m.
 
Texas DPS said Lorenzana drove a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox the wrong way in the eastbound lane of the 40 Freeway. Then his vehicle crashed head-on into a Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer.
 
According to DPS, Lorenzana traveled into the center median. Then his vehicle came to a stop against the cable barrier facing southwest.
 
Meanwhile, the truck tractor traveled into the center median, through the cable barrier. After that, it went into the westbound lane facing east, where it came to a stop.
 
Officials said Lorenzana died on the scene.
 
The other driver did not sustain any injuries. However, DPS officials handle the ongoing investigation of the crash.
