One Pedestrian Killed, Robert Catrini Involved in Bakersfield Accident

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 30, 2022) – Robert Catrini was involved in a deadly pedestrian crash on Highway 99 on Thursday, November 24.

The California Highway Patrol received a report around 8:51 p.m. about a pedestrian walking on the breakdown lane of Highway 99, just south of the California Avenue off-ramp.

More calls followed as the man tried to cross lanes and when he was hit by a 2015 Honda CRV.

Authorities identified the driver as 72-year-old Catrini of Mission Hills. He did not flee and waited for help to arrive. He also cooperated with the ongoing investigation.

The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries, which eventually led to death at the scene.

CHP has ruled out drugs and alcohol to the factors that may have caused the accident.
