Josue Navarro Detained after Fatal DUI Crash on Hawthorne Avenue
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA (November 30, 2022) — A juvenile and an adult died while officials arrested Josue E. Navarro in a suspected DUI crash on Hawthorne Avenue and Palm Lane on Saturday afternoon, November 26.
The fatal incident occurred at around 3:46 p.m. in Bloomington, according to the California Highway Patrol. Authorities said an SUV driven by Navarro slammed into a car parked along the north curb of Hawthorne Avenue east of Palm Lane.
That parked car then collided into three pedestrians who were walking nearby, authorities said.
Respondents pronounced two unidentified victims dead at the scene.
There is no update about the third pedestrian involved in the collision.
The cause and circumstances behind the crash remain under investigation. However, officials are also looking into the factors surrounding the incident.
