Suspected DUI Driver Involved in Fatal Accident on 5 Freeway in Seattle
SEATTLE, WA (June 17, 2024) – Officers arrested a driver following a deadly crash on the 5 Freeway ramp on June 2.
The Washington State Patrol said the collision happened at West Seattle Bridge at approximately 4:00 AM. Based on a report, a car broke down before the incident.
An occupant of the got out and got hit by a motorhome. An ambulance then stopped to help but was also hit by another vehicle. The impact pushed the ambulance into the person.
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
Troopers took the driver of the vehicle that hit the ambulance into custody for suspected impairment and investigation of vehicular homicide.
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
