SEBASTOPOL, CA (January 31, 2023) – Officers identified 36-year-old Donna Almendrala as the victim who suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident on Burnside Road on January 26.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just north of Bloomfield Road. Based on a report, Almendrala was walking southbound along the edge of Burnside Road while holding her 9-month old baby boy.
 
At the same time, a truck was traveling southbound on Burnside Road. Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle hit Almendrala with its side mirror.
 
As a result, the victim suffered minor to moderate injuries and her baby had minor injuries.
 
Police said the truck was not speeding at the time and drugs and alcohol were not considered factors in the incident.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
