Jaahnavi Kandula Identified in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Seattle

 
SEATTLE, WA (January 31, 2023) – Officers identified Jaahnavi Kandula as the victim who was struck and killed by a police vehicle on Dexter Avenue North on January 20.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Thomas Street shortly after 8:00 PM. Based on a report, the victim was walking through a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
 
At the same time, a police officer with the Seattle Police Department was responding in a patrol vehicle at the request of the Seattle Fire Department.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the officer struck the victim.
 
As a result, the King County Medical Examiner confirmed that Kandula died due to multiple blunt force injuries.
