Donald Jones Killed after Lakewood Hit-and-Run on West 14th Avenue and Carr Street

 
LAKEWOOD, CO (July 26, 2024) — A 41-year-old Edgewater man identified as Donald Jones died in a hit-and-run on Tuesday, July 9.
 
According to the Lakewood Police Department, the incident happened at around 11:49 p.m. on West 14th Avenue and Carr Street. It is just west of the intersection of Wadsworth Boulevard and West Colfax Avenue.
 
Lakewood Police said a vehicle struck the pedestrian and then the vehicle fled the scene.
 
Police later identified the pedestrian as Jones. He sustained serious injuries from the accident.  Paramedics arrived at the scene and then brought him to a local hospital. Medical officers eventually pronounced him dead.
 
Police reported that witnesses only have limited descriptions of the suspect vehicle. They said it was likely a gold or silver sedan moving eastbound on West 14th Avenue. The license plate information has not been determined.
