Laura Lynch Identified in Fatal Crash on Highway 62 in El Paso

 
EL PASO, TX (December 29, 2023) – Officials identified 65-year-old Laura Lynch, a founding member of the Dixie Chicks, who died in a crash on Highway 62 on December 22.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 5:45 PM. Based on a report, Lynch was traveling eastbound on the freeway during the crash.
 
At the same time, another driver was traveling westbound. When the westbound driver attempted to pass another vehicle on a two-way undivided portion of the road, the vehicle hit Lynch’s vehicle head-on.
 
As a result, Lynch suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Lynch co-founded the Dixie Chicks with Robin Lynn Macy, Martie Erwin, and Emily Erwin in 1989, as the upright bassist and vocalist.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
