Diana Ready Killed, Cody Hill Arrested after DUI Crash in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (April 18, 2024) — A 58-year-old woman identified as Diana Ready, of Henderson, died in a DUI accident on Tuesday, April 9.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the accident occurred at the intersection of Ann Road and Tropic Mist Street, just east of Jones Boulevard at about 6:47 p.m.
 
Investigators believe a white Kia Soul driven by Ready got disabled on the westbound side. Then Ready tried to move the car and a group stopped to assist her.
 
After some time, a 2012 Hyundai Veloster moved west on Ann Road. After that, it crashed into the back of the Kia, then struck and ran over Ready.
 
Police said Ready died at the scene. The Clark County Coroner’s Office ruled her death an accident.
 
LVMPD said the driver of the Hyundai, identified as 29-year-old Cody Hill, displayed signs of impairment. He failed field sobriety tests and officers brought him into custody.
 
Jail records show Hill faces a charge of DUI resulting in death, a felony, along with two misdemeanor counts.
 
The fatal accident marks the 48th traffic-related death in LVMPD’s jurisdiction this 2024.
 
During the investigation, officials closed Ann Road in both directions from Calvert Street to Bradley Road.
