18-Year-Old Alejandro Zair Detained in Porter Accident with Police Vehicle

 
PORTER, TX (April 18, 2024) – Officers arrested 18-year-old Alejandro Zair after a police chase that ended in an accident on FM 1314 on April 7.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened at Highway 59. Based on a report, Zair was driving a Camaro when a Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy tried to pull over him for a traffic violation on Sorters Road.
 
Subsequently, Zair fled and led deputies from the sheriff’s office on a chase. A deputy constable from Precinct 4 joined in the pursuit and said that Zair hit his patrol vehicle and caused a crash. The impact sent his vehicle airborne, causing it to leave the roadway and crash into an embankment. The Camaro also struck a telephone pole before Zair fled on foot.
 
As a result, the deputy sustained a broken nose, and bruised ribs, and had to receive stitches and staples. The impact also totaled his patrol vehicle.
 
Officers then located and took Zair into custody for felony evading arrest in a motor vehicle, with an additional outstanding felony warrant for a similar offense in Harris County.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
