Destinie Greenwell Dies in Lufkin Car Crash on Highway 69

 
LUFKIN, TX (October 4, 2022) – Officials identified 27-year-old Destinie Greenwell as the victim who died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 69 on September 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 7:50 AM. Based on a report, Greenwell was traveling south in the outside lane in a 2007 Nissan prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a 2017 Dodge pickup was traveling south in the inside lane. Due to unknown reasons, the Nissan changed lanes and struck the Dodge. Subsequently, a 2006 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer traveling north struck the Nissan.
 
As a result, Greenwell died at the scene.
 
The driver of the Dodge, 24-year-old Melissa Cheney, of Pollok, and the driver of the Freightliner, 64-year-old Edgardo Calderon, of Sachse, were not hurt.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, there are no other details available.
