Randon Cintron Dies in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident in Newport Beach
NEWPORT BEACH, CA (October 4, 2022) – Police identified Randon Cintron as the victim who died in a hit-and-run on Jamboree Road on September 11.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Bayview Way around 8:30 AM.
Based on a report, a vehicle struck the bicyclist in the lanes. Subsequently, the driver left the scene, without stopping to help the victim.
As a result, the bicyclist died in the incident. Newport Beach police officials said bystanders tried to tend to the victim, but he died at the scene. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office identified him as a 43-year-old man from Costa Mesa.
Later, officials with Costa Mesa police detained and arrested the driver of the vehicle near Corona Del Mar High School, less than 2 miles from the scene. They identified her as 36-year-old Adriana Bernal of Anaheim. She was held in lieu of over $1 million bail.
At this point, an investigation is ongoing.
