Daurick Scott Identified in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Rosewood Drive in Killeen

 
KILLEEN, TX (June 9, 2023) – The Killeen Police Department identified 23-year-old Daurick Romel Scott Jr. who died in a multi-vehicle crash on Rosewood Drive on June 3.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at East Central Texas Expressway at approximately 4:18 PM. Based on a report, Scott was driving a gray Dodge Challenger eastbound on East Central at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
 
As he approached Rosewood on the inside turn-left only lane, he disregarded the turn marks and struck a red Dodge Durango that was attempting to make a left turn at the intersection. Subsequently, he struck a traffic light pole and the Durango continued across the center median, striking a semi-truck trailer.
 
As a result, Scott suffered severe injuries in the incident. Crews transported him to to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights, where he later died.
 
His female passenger was not also wearing a seatbelt and suffered severe injuries. She was airlifted to Baylor Scott and White also in critical condition.
 
There were no other injuries in the incident.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
