Daniel Lindsey, Chelsea Clark, and Marcos Campos Fatally Injured after Martin County Car Accident
MARTIN COUNTY, TX (August 29, 2024) — Daniel Lindsey, Chelsea Clark, and Marcos Campos died in a car accident on Friday, August 16.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened on Highway 349 at Mile Marker 300 in Martin County at about 4:40 a.m.
The initial report said 22-year-old Kevin Sanchez drove a 2016 Kenworth truck with a trailer. He traveled southbound on Highway 349 when the vehicle had a tire blowout.
Sanchez then pulled over to the shoulder of the highway to repair the tire. DPS said that the Sanchez could not move entirely off the roadway due to the shoulder sloping down.
Then 29-year-old Daniel Lindsey who was behind the wheel of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe moved southbound on Highway 349. She crashed with the trailer of the truck. After that, she struck three reflective triangles that Sanchez set out.
Lindsey, along with two passengers in the vehicle died at the scene. Officials identified the passengers as 34-year-old Chelsea Clark and 54-year-old Marcos Campos. All of them were Lubbock residents.
Sanchez was not hurt in the accident.
Authorities handle the ongoing investigation of the crash.
