Daniel Hathaway Suspected of DUI in Fatal Crash in Magnolia

 
MAGNOLIA, TX (March 9, 2023) – The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office announced that intoxication manslaughter charges are up against 38-year-old Daniel James Hathaway after a fatal crash on Community Road on March 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 1488 around 6:30 PM. Based on a report, Hathaway was driving a Honda Pilot southbound on Community Road prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he ran a stop sign and slammed into a pickup truck that was traveling westbound on FM 1488. Then, the pick-up struck an Infiniti QX60, causing it to roll over. The pick-up then landed on its roof next to the Infiniti, trapping its driver.
 
As a result, Magnolia Fire Department said the truck driver died in the incident.
 
The driver of the Infiniti was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
 
DPS, along with the Montgomery County DA’s Office Vehicular Crimes Unit, determined Hathaway to be intoxicated.
 
As of now, officials continue to investigate the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
