Daniel Garza Arrested in Laredo DUI Car Accident

 
LAREDO, TX (May 3, 2023) — Officials arrested 23-year-old Daniel Alejandro Garza after a multi-vehicle DUI accident on Bob Bullock Loop on Saturday, April 22.
 
At around 9 p.m., a trooper rushed to a four-vehicle accident at Clark Boulevard near the entrance of a shopping center. The vehicles involved were a white Kia Sorento, a gray Dodge Charger, a gray Ford F-150, and a Texas DPS marked unit.
 
As a result of the incident, Laredo Fire Department crews rushed three adults, including a trooper, and two children, to the Laredo Medical Center. Laredo police officers detained Garza, the driver of the car that caused the collision.
 
Paramedics rushed Garza to the hospital where he received treatment.
 
According to an affidavit, he showed signs of impairment, such as a strong alcohol odor, bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech. He also admitted to a trooper that he celebrated with friends and drank “something light”. He is said to have had five to six tequila shots and five Michelob Ultras.
 
Garza voluntarily agreed to give a blood sample. Officers arrested him once he was medically cleared. He now faces charges, including driving while intoxicated and intoxicated assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.
