Daniel Curcio-Kennedy Ejected, Killed in Tortilla Flat Car Crash
TORTILLA FLAT, AZ (May 2, 2023) – Officers identified 21-year-old Daniel Christopher Curcio-Kennedy of Gilbert as the victim who died in a crash on Highway 88 on April 29.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at milepost 218.6 shortly after 10:00 PM. Based on a report, Curcio-Kennedy was a passenger in a Volkswagen Jetta that was negotiating an eastbound curve prior to the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle drove onto the westbound shoulder and rolled. Then, it slid roughly 300 feet into the bottom of a canyon, throwing the victim from the car.
As a result, first responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
