19-Year-Old Gwendolyn Garcia Dies after Running Red Light in Tolleson

 
TOLLESON, AZ (May 2, 2023) – The Tolleson Police Department identified 19-year-old Gwendolyn Brooke Garcia as the victim who died in a crash on 83rd Avenue on April 28.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Buckeye Road shortly after 9:00 PM. Based on a report, Garcia was traveling westbound on Buckeye Road at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a semi-truck traveling westbound on the same road stopped at the intersection’s red light. Due to unknown reasons, Garcia failed to stop and crashed into the back of the truck. The impact caused the car to burst into flames.
 
As a result, Garcia died at the scene.
 
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
