Cyclist Dies after Modesto Accident on McHenry Avenue and Union Avenue

 
MODESTO, CA (November 18, 2022) — A cyclist died after being struck in a two-vehicle crash on McHenry Avenue and Union Avenue on Tuesday night, November 15.

According to the Modesto Police Department happened around 7:00 p.m. near the intersection. Investigators say a woman was driving north on McHenry Avenue when the 61-year-old bicyclist tried to cross the road illegally.

However, it went into the path of the driver and there was a collision.

Officers located the man down in the road. He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Police say drugs nor alcohol appear to be causes of the crash. However, anyone with information can call Officer Ryan Olson at 209-342-9151.
