Corrections Officer Michael Florio Involved in Pedestrian Accident on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 27, 2023) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police identified 37-year-old officer Michael Florio as the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian on Martin Luther King Boulevard on January 17.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened at Balzar Avenue around 8:40 PM.
 
Based on a report, the Metropolitan Police Department Corrections officer was on duty, driving a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado near the north side of M.L.K. Boulevard at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, he struck a man trying to cross the street.
 
As a result, the 35-year-old man suffered grave injuries. Paramedics transported him to University Medical Center, where he died.
 
As of now, an investigation is still ongoing since the involved is an officer.
