PEORIA, AZ (March 28, 2024) — A child suffered life-threatening injuries after a bicycle accident on 72nd Avenue on Wednesday, March 20.
 
According to Peoria Police, the collision took place on 72nd Avenue and Jomax Road at night. The incident involved a vehicle and a bicycle.
 
Officials said paramedics rushed the bicyclist to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. They only identified the cyclist as a juvenile.
 
Police do not believe impairment is a factor. Police said they have not yet determined if speed is a factor.
 
Authorities temporarily closed Jomax Road in both directions between 67th Avenue and 75th Avenue.
 
The crash is under investigation.
