Chad Brooks Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Highway 171 in Covington

 
COVINGTON, TX (April 18, 2023) – Officials identified 43-year-old Chad Brooks as the victim who died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 171 on April 1.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 11:30 PM. Based on a report, Brooks was traveling on the northbound side of the road prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a Jeep Wrangler was traveling southbound. Due to unknown reasons, the Jeep drove onto the northbound lanes and crashed into the victim’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
 
As a result, Brooks suffered grave injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported him to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, where he later died.
 
Crews took the driver of the Jeep to Texas Health Hospital in Fort Worth to be treated for a possible injury and to undergo an alcohol evaluation.
 
Sergeant Howard said that the investigation is active and ongoing. As of now, no other details are available.
