COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (September 24, 2024) — Carrie Valdez and her family sustained injuries in an accident on Monday, September 2.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 94 and Engleby Drive at 10:20 p.m.
 
CSP said the Valdez family traveled on Highway 94 on the way home from a WWE event. Then a pickup truck hauling a trailer without any visible lights made a U-turn in front of their vehicle. It resulted in the two vehicles colliding.
 
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and airlifted Carrie to the hospital with head and spinal injuries. Her husband, Joel, and their daughters 19-year-old Summer and 14-year-old Serenity also sustained injuries in the crash.
 
CSP said the truck driver was at fault in the accident. In addition, they said the driver also drove without a valid license, plates, registration, and insurance.
 
Loved ones of the Valdez family made a GoFundMe page to help them with their medical expenses.
 
CSP said the crash is still under investigation.
