Carlos Vera Killed, Clesiz Leiva Arrested in Crash on Belt Line Road at Lakeview Drive [Grand Prairie, TX]

Carlos Vera Identified in Fatal Car Crash in Grand Prairie

 
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (March 28, 2024) – Grand Prairie police identified 33-year-old Carlos Alberto Aria Vera who died in a crash on Belt Line Road on March 17.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Lakeview Drive around 7:30 AM. Based on a report, 24-year-old Clesiz Leiva was driving a pick-up truck southbound on Belt Line Road at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, she crossed over into the northbound lanes and hit the victim’s Jeep SUV.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police said a passenger in the jeep was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
 
Leiva was charged with intoxication manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
