Carlos Gonzales Identified in Fatal Crash on East Slaton Road in Lubbock
LUBBOCK, TX (February 14, 2023) – Lubbock Police identified 35-year-old Carlos Gonzales as the victim who died in a crash in the 4200 block of East Slaton Road on February 11.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 11:00 PM. Based on a report, Gonzales was driving a vehicle in the eastbound lanes of the road prior to the crash.
At the same time, 18-year-old Brenson Halford was driving a pickup truck. Due to unknown reasons, Gonzales hit the truck, causing the truck to roll over.
As a result, Gonzales died in the incident.
Halford and his fellow Hermleigh ISD student, 17-year-old Tyler Stewart, suffered serious injuries in the incident. Crews took them to UMC for treatment.
As of now, no other details are available. In addition, the case remains under investigation.
