HOUSTON, TX (March 7, 2025) — A bicyclist identified as Bellamy Kemp sustained injuries in a hit-and-run on Tuesday, February 25.
West University Police said the accident occurred on University Boulevard near Wakeforest Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said Kemp rode his bike, equipped with four flashing lights, along University Boulevard. Kemp said a red Ford pickup truck followed him moments before the vehicle struck him from behind.
The impact threw Kemp into the opposite lane of traffic. Emergency responders arrived and then treated Kemp for multiple injuries. It includes a broken collarbone, six stitches on his lip, and several cuts and bruises.
West University police confirmed the driver involved did not stop after the collision. Investigators have since located a suspect believed to be responsible.
There have been no filed charges. However, authorities indicated that criminal charges are under consideration as the investigation continues.
