Suspected DUI Driver Bayron Hernandez-Zelaya Involved in Austin Multi-Vehicle Accident
AUSTIN, TX (November 7, 2024) – The Austin Police Department arrested Bayron Josue Hernandez-Zelaya following a DUI accident on Highway 183 on October 27.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Highway 71 at approximately 8:00 PM. Based on a report, officers found one stalled car with two flat tires on the right shoulder of the road near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Two people exited the car to speak to officers. At that point, Hernandez-Zelaya came and struck another car. The impact caused the second car to hit the child talking to the officer.
As a result, two children and three adults suffered non-life threatening injuries in the incident. Emergency crews took them to a local hospital for treatment.
Police arrested Hernandez-Zelaya for Driving While Intoxicated and taken to Travis County Jail.
