Baylijo Williams Arrested, One Dead in DUI Crash on Jackson Avenue near South Kitsap Regional Park

 
PORT ORCHARD, WA (March 18, 2024) — Officers arrested 21-year-old Baylijo Williams after a fatal DUI accident on Tuesday, March 6.
 
According to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Jackson Avenue, along South Kitsap Regional Park around 9:24 p.m.
 
Officers said a Toyota Sienna and Chevrolet Camaro drove south on Jackson Avenue. According to authorities, the Camaro driven by Williams traveled at a high rate of speed behind the Sienna. Then it hit the Sienna in the back.
 
The impact caused the Sienna to go off the road. After that, it crashed into a tree near the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Devonshire Place.
 
The sheriff’s office confirmed one of the occupants of the Sienna, a man in his 50s or 60s, died in the accident. Paramedics rushed a driver and passenger to separate hospitals, then transferred them both to Harborview Medical Center.
 
First responders transported the passenger in the Camaro to Tacoma General Hospital. Another ran before authorities arrived. A third passenger sustained minor injuries.
 
Paramedics brought Williams to St. Anthony’s Hospital, where they determined she was under the influence. As a result, officers booked her into Kitsap County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide and four counts of vehicular assault.
