Teens Baltazar Santiago and Cecelia Gonzales Hernandez Involved in Skagit County Accident

 
SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (September 14, 2022) – 17-year-olds Baltazar Santiago and Cecelia Gonzales Hernandez suffered injuries in a car crash on September 6.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at the intersection of Bow Hill Road and Ershig Road around 1:47 PM.
 
Based on a report, Santiago of Mount Vernon traveled northbound on Ershig Road in a red 2007 Jeep Liberty with four passengers. However, he failed to stop at the stop sign. As a result, his car crashed into a westbound 2011 Chevy Equinox. Subsequently, the Jeep Liberty rolled over and struck a light pole.
 
As a result, Santiago and one of his passengers, Hernandez, suffered injuries. Officials transported them to Skagit Valley Hospital for treatment.
 
19-year-old Paulina Garcia Pacheco, Alejandrino Garcia, and another female passenger were also hurt as well as the Chevy driver, 72-year-old Mark Bluhm.
 
Troopers said drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash. At this point, no other details are available.
 
The cause of the collision is listed as “Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign.” However, an investigation is ongoing.
