Gerald Zacherle Dies in Rollover Accident on Highway 155 near Omak

 
OMAK, WA (September 14, 2022) – Officers identified Gerald I. Zacherle as the victim who died in a rollover accident on Highway 155 about 12 miles south of Omak on September 8.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, a 2011 GMC Canyon pickup truck was heading south on the highway at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. Subsequently, the vehicle went off the road to the right and through the guardrail before it rolled down an embankment.
 
As a result, Omak resident Gerald Zacherle died at the scene. State troopers said he was not wearing a seatbelt.
 
In addition, a second person in the vehicle, 35-year-old Omak resident Louis L. Zacherle, suffered injuries and was sent to Mid Valley Hospital.
 
Drugs and/or alcohol were reported as a factor. Also, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
