Ray Rodarte and Ayla Gonzales Died in Fresno County Crash
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (December 20, 2022) – Ayla Gonzales and Ray Rodarte died in a car crash on North Avenue and De Wolf Avenue on Saturday, December 10.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened after 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Avenue and De Wolf Avenue. Based on reports, 24-year-old Gonzales and 24-year-old Rodarte were in a Nissan Altima at the stop sign on De Wolf Avenue.
For unknown reasons, the Altima drove to the edge of the road and crashed into an eastbound freightliner truck on North Avenue.
Both Gonzales and Rodarte succumbed to their injuries and died, CHP say.
The driver of the truck was shaken, but did not sustain injuries from the crash. Authorities said the driver cooperated with the investigation.
Authorities will continue to investigate. However, they do not believe that alcohol and drugs were a factor that led to the accident.
