Bicyclist Anthony Sipes Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (August 17, 2023) – The Tucson Police Department identified 46-year-old Anthony Branden Sipes who died in a bicycle accident on East 22nd Street on August 3.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near South Alamo Avenue shortly after 3:30 AM. Based on a report, Sipes was riding his bicycle in the bicycle lane of eastbound 22nd Street at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle hit him from behind and left the scene.
 
As a result, Sipes sustained grave injuries and died at the scene. Detectives said he had a light affixed to the front of his bicycle and he was also wearing a bright neon-colored shirt.
 
Detectives believe the suspect vehicle is a 2008-2014 Cadillac CTS sedan or coupe.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
