PHOENIX, AZ (March 4, 2025) — A 41-year-old, Angelica Pesqueira-Corrales, died in a hit-and-run on Wednesday, February 26.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. near 35th Avenue and Buckeye Road.
 
Phoenix Police said a vehicle struck Pesqueira-Corrales while she was walking in the area. Officers arrived and found her with serious injuries. After that, they transported her to a hospital, where she later died.
 
Investigators said the driver of the involved vehicle fled the scene before police arrived. After an ongoing investigation, authorities identified 36-year-old Denisse Rodriguez-Cardenas as the suspect. Police took Rodriguez-Cardenas into custody on Saturday.
